My Fiancé Abandoned Me For Don’s Adopted Daughter But I’m Don’s Real Daughter Chapter 01
On my wedding day, my mafia fiancé dumped me for the Don’s adopted daughter.
To please her, he broke my legs and made me crawl to them like a dog, handing over the rings on their wedding.
But they didn’t know. I was the Don’s real daughter.
She was just some street-level girl he took in because she had a face that looked a little like mine.
At the wedding, I crawled to their feet. She laughed in my face.
But I looked past her. At the Don.
“Poppa… I’m here.”

The moment the man pushed open the door, I had just released the carrier pigeon from my hand, sending a letter with the family chain to my father’s headquarters.
I was the most beloved daughter in the entire underworld. The only child of Don Galluzzo.
My father was the true king of this city. He owned both sides of the law and controlled a sprawling empire that stretched across borders.
He killed without mercy and trusted no one. Except me.
Once, a maid on night watch yawned while guarding my room. My father had her tongue cut out, packed in a box, and delivered to her family’s doorstep.
Another time, one of his men brought me cold milk. My father made him drink two gallons of it. The poor guy passed out halfway through.
The whole underworld lived in terror. The family’s power swelled on a tide of blood, but it also bred countless enemies and constant danger.
I begged him to stop. He wouldn’t listen.
In the end, the only thing I could do was stage my own death to awaken whatever humanity he had left.
Three years.
For three years, my father had restrained his killing, all to honor my memory.
Now, I had fallen in love with a man and helped him rise from the lowest rung of the organization, a nobody street soldier, into a capable underboss running his own crew.
We were engaged. And I finally felt it was time to go home.
Inside the letter was the family chain my father gave me when I was a child. No one else in the world had ever seen it.
I wrote: Pops, I’m not dead. I’ve been alive this whole time. I’m getting married. My fiancé works for you. I’m at his place, waiting for you to come get me.
“Vincent, I just contacted my father. The truth is, I’m actually—”
Vincent waved me off. Irritation flickered across his face.
“Nobody cares about your broke relatives. I have something important to tell you.”
“Don Galluzzo’s adopted daughter, Miss Pearl Galluzzo, is going to marry me today. Our engagement is off.”
My heart clenched. Don Galluzzo, that’s how everybody call my father.
“No! We’re already engaged. Who is this Pearl? Does she even know you have a fiancée—”
Before I could finish, Vincent backhanded me across the face.
The force sent me to the floor. Blood seeped from the corner of my mouth instantly.
“Shut up! Pearl is Don Galluzzo’s personally adopted daughter. Everyone in the family gives her respect. Do you have any idea how much Don Galluzzo spoils her? Are you trying to get my whole family killed?”
My ears were ringing. I couldn’t reconcile the man standing over me with the boy who once pursued me so desperately.
After I faked my death and disappeared, I lived under an alias at the bottom of the food chain. I used everything I’d learned growing up at my father’s side to help the struggling people around me, solving problems for neighbors and giving advice to the small-timers clawing their way through the underworld.
Vincent was the lowest kind of soldier in the family. Poor background. Good fists.
He always charged in first on every job, but brute force was all he had. He came back bloody every time and went years without a single promotion.
I admired his guts and his loyalty. I started advising him. He promised me he would never harm innocents, that he would keep civilians out of it. I helped him climb from a nobody to a crew leader, then a district boss, then a lieutenant, then an underboss.
Somewhere along the way, Vincent fell for me. He proposed in front of all his men.
“Rosa, you’re the only woman I’ll ever want. Rich or poor, there will never be another.”
For three years I planned his moves, managed his business, handled his affairs. And for three years, Vincent treated me like a treasure. He never once raised his voice at me.
Now he’d been promoted to underboss and transferred back to the city where headquarters sat. And the first thing he did was cancel our engagement, and marry someone else on what was supposed to be our wedding.
Vincent seemed to realize he’d hit me too hard. A flash of guilt crossed his face, but it was quickly replaced a look that said it was my fault.
“Rosa, I owe you. I know that. But your background is too low.”
“Headquarters isn’t like the streets. Without a powerful backer, how am I supposed to hold my position? Pearl is Don Galluzzo’s most beloved daughter. She’s above everyone. With her as my wife, the whole family will look at me differently. You’ve been by my side this long. What more do you want?”
I wiped the blood from my mouth and looked at him coldly.
“Don’t bother with the paperwork. The moment you raised your hand to me, whatever we had was over.”
“My family got my letter. They’re coming to get me.”
Outside the door, the sound of engines roared to life. Low and dense.
My heart leaped. Father came this fast?
