My Fiancé Betrayed The Wrong Mafia Heiress Chapter 11

This Time, You Decide

“After you escaped, my men reached the training ground,” my father says. “They found blood and a body they could not identify.”

Everyone believed the body was mine.

The Vale couple found me nearby, with no memory of who I was. They gave me a new identity and hid me for more than a decade.

“Did they know who I was?”

“From the beginning.”

My father’s voice turns cold.

“They did not take you in out of kindness. They planned to trade the Moretti heir for power once the right opportunity came.”

They raised me, then arranged my marriage to Ethan.

To them, I was never a daughter.

I was an asset they had not yet sold for the highest price.

“Why did it take you so long to find me?”

“Daniel.”

I look up at the name.

“While investigating the Carter family’s illegal deals, Daniel found a secret transfer from a Vale account. He followed the money and discovered that your adoption records had been altered.”

Daniel died before he could release everything he found.

“But he sent part of the evidence to Luca first,” my father continues. “That evidence led us to you.”

I turn toward Luca.

He stands behind me, one hand resting near his injured side.

He found me because Daniel died trying to expose both families.

My father opens a drawer and removes a black ring. An eagle with its wings spread is carved into its face.

He places it on the desk.

“This belonged to your mother. It is also the symbol of the Moretti heir.”

I stare at the ring.

“You can take it and accept who you are,” he says. “Or you can walk away. If that is what you choose, I will deal with the Vales and the Carters. None of them will ever come near you again.”

I look at him.

“And let your family decide my life again?”

Regret deepens in his eyes.

“No.”

He pushes the ring toward me.

“This time, you decide.”

For years, the Vales chose what I believed.

They chose whom I trusted.

They even chose the man I was supposed to marry.

I walk to the desk and pick up the ring.

It fits perfectly when I slide it onto my finger.

“The Vales lied to me,” I say. “The Carters tried to kill me.”

I raise my eyes to my father.

“I don’t need anyone to settle that debt for me.”

He studies me for a moment.

Then a faint smile touches his face.

“Then your training begins again tomorrow.”

“Who will train me?”

He does not answer.

His gaze moves past me.

I turn around.

Luca lowers himself onto one knee despite the wound in his side. His face is still pale, but there is no hesitation in his eyes.

He places one hand over his heart.

Beneath it is the scar he received after setting me free.

“Before, it was me,” he says.

He lifts his eyes to mine.

“And this time, it will be me again.”
