My Fiancé Chose Her So I Chose Myself Chapter 20

My Fiancé Chose Her So I Chose Myself Chapter 20

Before the plane took off, I replied to the email.

*Have the independent review team handle it. I am recusing myself from all disciplinary votes involving Travis Vale, but please retain all documentation under the acquisition agreement and territory licensing rules.*

Marissa replied almost immediately.

*Understood. The review team needs you to confirm the dates when the gaps were identified in due diligence.*

I forwarded the report from three years ago.

It wasn’t a secret, and it wasn’t some new weapon I had just uncovered. On the first day of negotiations, in front of Travis, Evan, and the Lakecrest council observer, I had already pointed out the gaps in TerraGrid’s financial disclosures.

At the time, Travis had only cared about the valuation.

Later, to prove he had finally “chosen correctly,” he publicly released the expenses, receipts, and dates confirmed by the internal investigation.

He had personally supplied the missing half of the evidence for everyone to see.

Once the plane rose above the clouds, I turned off the screen.

Ten hours later, I was back in my London apartment.

At eight the next morning, TerraGrid’s special review team convened by video. Marissa sat in the Chicago conference room, the acquisition disclosure files spread across the long table.

On the other side of the screen sat the audit lead from the new board.

“Ms. Whitman, we need to confirm one thing.”
