My Husband Sold Me To The Mafia King Who Turned Out To Be My Daddy Chapter 04
Serena clamps a hand over her bleeding arm and lets out a shrieking, animal scream.
“You bitch! You dare cut me?! I’m gonna skin you alive today! Chop you up and feed you to the dogs! I’ll make you beg for death, you hear me?!”
I move to strike back —
Damon slams into me from behind. Wraps both arms around me. Drives me down into the shattered glass.
“Ms. Lockwood! I got her! I’ll hold her down for you!”
Then, to prove himself, he grabs a jagged shard off the floor.
And drives it straight into my thigh.
A dull, wet crunch.
“AAAH!”
My whole body seizes. Blood pours out. Soaks through my dress.
I hit the floor and stare up at Damon’s face. That eager, ass-kissing smile.
Three years of marriage.
Dead. Rotten. Gone. Right there.
He pins my arms down. Leans into my ear. Voice a hiss.
“Cora, are you out of your fucking mind?! You said you’d behave! What is wrong with you?!”
“You want to die? Fine! Don’t drag me and Vivi down with you! You die here today, it’s on you! You brought this on yourself!”
Serena struts over in her spike heels.
She lifts one foot.
And drives that stiletto right into the open wound on my thigh.
Then she twists.
The heel grinds through flesh. Grinds through muscle.
My vision goes black. Cold sweat drenches me. I can barely breathe.
“Come on! Get cocky again! I dare you!”
Damon grins up at her like a puppy.
“Ms. Lockwood, this whore is begging for it. Play with her all you want. Just keep her breathing — enough to send to Mr. Whitmore.”
My mouth fills with blood.
But I bite down. Hard. I don’t make a sound.
I pull my lips back into an ice-cold smile.
“You better pray. Pray that when that door opens, Vincent Whitmore is in a good mood.”
“Because if he’s not? Every single one of you gets chopped into pieces. Fed to the dogs. Nothing left. Not even bones.”
Serena snatches a boning knife from one of her guards. Laughs like a lunatic.
“You’re seconds from dying and you’re still running your mouth? Somebody’s got to teach you where you stand.”
The blade is on my right cheek before I can move.
She drags it down. Deep. Slow.
Pain explodes. My skin peels back. It feels like she’s ripping half my face off.
Every nerve in my body convulses.
“AAAHHH!”
I can’t hold it in anymore. The scream tears out of my throat.
“Scream! Louder! LOUDER!”
Serena’s shaking with excitement.
She drags the tip of the blade down my cheek, down my neck, until it’s resting on my throat.
Then she lifts her foot again —
And stomps her heel down on my fingers.
Crack.
Two of them shatter.
The pain is unspeakable. I almost pass out. Every inch of me is drenched in cold sweat.
She lifts the bloody knife. Points it at the tendons in my right hand.
“First, I’m gonna ruin your hand. Then I’m gonna slice your ankles. Then I’ll wrap you up like a nice little present and hand-deliver you to Mr. Whitmore.”
“Let’s see if you ever try to seduce him again, you dumb little whore!”
The blade lifts high —
BOOM.
The door explodes off its hinges.
A tall figure sweeps through. Something dark and lethal radiates off him — a killing intent that fills the whole room.
“Who the fuck thinks they can throw hands in my house?!”
Damon’s face lights up. He scrambles up like a dog running to its master.
“Mr. Whitmore! Perfect timing, sir! I brought you a real premium piece! Ms. Lockwood was just teaching her some manners—”
My dad’s eyes drift lazily over the pool of blood on the floor.
Then they land on me.
The second he sees my face —
He freezes. Like he’s just been struck by lightning.
Dead silence.
Serena still hasn’t noticed the reaper standing in the doorway.
She lifts the bloody knife. Slinks over. Voice dripping honey.
“Mr. Whitmore, this bitch was running her mouth. Saying insane things. I already put her in her place for you—”
I raise my head. Slowly.
I lock eyes with my dad. And I tug my lips into a bitter, mocking smile.
“Vincent Whitmore. Long time no see.”
“Your dogs learned some new tricks.”
“One more minute? And you’d never see me again.”
