My Wedding Dress For The Other Woman? His Regret After I Canceled Chapter 03

They yanked me toward the car. The assistant picked up the muddy dress and shoved it into my chest.

“Mr. Cross said if you won’t come nicely, we’ll make you. So we’re taking you there.”

They threw me inside. The doors slammed. The Maybach tore through the storm.

The air conditioner was blasting cold air. I was already soaked. My lips turned blue. My teeth wouldn’t stop chattering.

The assistant watched me in the rearview mirror with a smirk.

“Vivian. Saying yes would’ve been so much easier. But no—you had to make it complicated. Now look at you.”

I closed my eyes and said nothing.

What was there left to say?

Thirty minutes later, the car stopped at the red carpet backstage.

They dragged me out.

Through the doorway of a nearby lounge, I saw Serena posing for cameras. In my wedding dress.

Kaelan stood beside her, looking proud.

But when he spotted me and the muddy, wrinkled, pathetic bridesmaid dress in my hands, he frowned.

“Why do you look so wrecked?”

He took off his jacket and tried to put it around my shoulders. That fake gentleness again. “You’re so stubborn, Vivian. If you’d just behave, I wouldn’t have to be so hard on you.”

I stepped back.

His jacket fell to the ground.

His eyes went dark.

“Vivian, my patience is running out.” He grabbed my chin and forced my face up. “Go put that dress on. When Serena walks, you walk behind her and hold her train. And if you mess this up…”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box.

My breath stopped.

He opened it. Inside was my ruby bracelet. The one my grandmother put on my wrist the day she died. The only thing I had left of her.

“Give that back!” I lunged for it.

He held it above my head. His smile was cruel.

“Hold Serena’s train, and I’ll give it back. Or I can drop it right here.”

He let it dangle between his fingers.

“I’ll count to three.”

“Three.”

I was shaking. My nails cut into my palms.

“Two.”

“One.”

“I’ll do it.”

The words came out like broken glass.

Kaelan smiled. He patted my cheek and slipped the bracelet back into his pocket.

“That’s my girl. Go get dressed. Serena’s on in ten.”

I took the muddy dress and walked into the bathroom.

I stared at myself in the mirror. Pale. Gaunt. A ghost staring back.

Five years of hiding who I really was. Five years of playing small so he could feel big.

I thought I’d found love.

I’d just been feeding a monster.

Kaelan Cross, you took everything from me. Now I’m going to take everything from you.
