My Wedding Dress For The Other Woman? His Regret After I Canceled Chapter 07
The Christmas Eve.
The city was covered in lights. Snow fell in thick white sheets. Families were gathered around trees somewhere, laughing, opening presents.
I was in Ethan’s penthouse, staring at my phone.
Kaelan had been calling for three days straight. I’d blocked six different numbers. He kept finding new ones.
Then a text came through from an unknown number.
“Vivian. Please. I’m outside. Just five minutes. I’m begging you.”
I looked out the window.
There he was. I didn’t know how he found this place.
He stood in the snow below Ethan’s building. No coat. No shoes. Just his cast and his desperation and his ruined suit.
He’d walked five miles in the cold. Because his cards were still frozen and no taxi would pick him up.
I watched him shiver for a full minute.
Then I called down to security.
“There’s a man loitering outside. He’s trespassing. Have him removed.”
“Understood, Miss Vance.”
Two guards walked out and grabbed Kaelan by the arms. He didn’t fight them. He just kept staring up at my window, his lips moving.
I couldn’t read what he was saying.
I didn’t want to.
…
Kaelan found another way in.
I sold the villa. The day I moved out, I bumped into him. He looked like he’d been waiting there for days.
I called 911 and didn’t say a word. Just walked right by him.
“Vivian—!” He screamed.
“Just let me explain. I made a mistake. I was blind. I was stupid. I was… I was in love with you.”
I almost laughed.
“Kaelan. You were in love with my money, not me. There’s a difference.”
“I wasn’t—I didn’t KNOW—”
“That’s the problem, Kaelan.” I kept my voice calm.
“You didn’t know because you never bothered to ask. You just assumed I was nothing. Because that’s what you needed me to be.”
Silence.
Then—a thud.
He’d dropped to his knees. I could hear it. The weight of his body hitting the floor.
“Please,” he whispered. “I’ll do anything. I’ll be anything. Just don’t leave me like this.”
The sirens got louder.
“This isn’t me leaving you, Kaelan.” I leaned against the door. “This is me finally waking up.”
The cops knocked. I opened the door.
Kaelan was on his knees in the hallway. Tears frozen to his cheeks. Snot dripping down his face. He looked up at me like I was God.
I stepped back and let the officers handle it.
“Miss Vance, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. But I’d like to press charges for harassment.”
Kaelan’s face crumpled.
As they hauled him away, he kept twisting around to look at me.
“I love you, Vivian. I’ve always loved you.”
I closed the door.
