Regrets Of What Was Lost Chapter 17

Regrets Of What Was Lost Chapter 17

Cause of action: Fraud, Civil Conspiracy, Intentional Misrepresentation.

Plaintiff: Savannah Miller.

Defendants: Tucker Wells, Zinnia Quinn.

Relief sought: Rescission of the real estate purchase agreement, return of the one-million-dollar purchase price, and release from the associated mortgage debt.

I stared at the complaint for a long time.

It laid everything out with brutal clarity:

“Tucker Wells and Zinnia Quinn used divorce as an inducement to mislead Savannah Miller into purchasing the property at issue. After the title transfer, the two defendants did not complete their divorce, causing the plaintiff to assume a debt she should not have borne.”

I immediately picked up the phone and called her.

“Savannah, are you out of your mind? You’re suing me?”

There was a two-second silence on the other end, then a soft, cold laugh.

“Shut up, Tucker. You played the devoted lover, coaxed me into buying that house, and dumped your marital debt on my head. The house is in my name. The mortgage is in my name. You lost nothing, and you got to use me for years.

“You and her played this very neatly. If you want to settle, pay off my mortgage. Otherwise, I’m taking everyone down.”
