The principal practically ran in.
The moment he saw my father, his expression shifted.
“Mr. Pierce, why didn’t you let me know you were—”
“Foster.”
My father cut him off.
“Have you seen these documents?”
The principal wiped his forehead.
“I… I haven’t had the chance.”
“You hadn’t seen them, yet you allowed your Student Affairs Office to suspend a student and revoke her spot in a national competition?”
The principal opened his mouth, then glanced at Holloway.
My father continued.
“By the end of today, I want an independent investigation team established.”
“I want all relevant security footage from September twenty-third, the original student council ledgers, and all exam room footage from the midterms.”
“Until the investigation is complete, no one is to touch that competition spot.”
“I want the results in three days.”
His tone left no room for discussion.
The principal nodded at once.
“Yes, of course. Absolutely.”
My mother then walked over to Chris Thorne.
“Chris.”
She crouched down to meet his eyes.
“I’m a lawyer. I’m not trying to scare you. I am only going to ask you one question.”
“Who signed Bianca’s name on that form?”
Chris’s eyes darted around the room, landing first on Holloway.
Holloway stared back at him, her gaze hard.
Veronica was still trying to bluff.
“Those materials were verified by the whole student council—”
“The whole council?”
