The Day I Went Silent Chapter 06

The Day I Went Silent Chapter 06

Olivia was locked in the pitch-black family shrine once again.

Kneeling on the freezing stone floor, she only felt like a fool.

She knew Julian would protect Chloe, but she never expected him to stoop so low as to frame her.

Lost in her despair, a faint hissing sound pricked her ears.

Olivia’s eyes widened. She held her breath, not daring to move an inch.

A cold sensation slithered around her calf.

A snake!

It was a snake!

Who let a snake in here?!

Olivia desperately fought back the terror in her heart, but ultimately couldn’t help scrambling to the door: “Help!

There’s a snake in here!”

Dead silence.

She gritted her teeth, looked around, found a rock, and smashed it fiercely against the door lock.

Her hands soon bled from the friction, but she didn’t dare to stop.

Meanwhile, at the Vance family villa.

Chloe sat on the floor, downing glass after glass of wine.

“What are you doing!”

Julian couldn’t stand it anymore and hauled her up. “Oliver is still here, and you’re acting like this?”

“Oliver?

Do you know what Oliver just said to me?

He said he felt sorry for Olivia and wanted to apologize to her…”

Chloe giggled drunkenly. “My husband belongs to someone else, and now, great, my son is taking her side too.”

Julian’s face tightened: “…You were the one who abandoned us back then.”

“Right!

I couldn’t stand the Vances back then, couldn’t stand the rules of your rich and powerful family!

But now I regret it!”

Chloe raised her voice, her eyes red. “But you both have someone else in your hearts now!

Why?

Didn’t you both say you would love me forever?

Olivia just acted like your dog for a few years, and now you can’t bear to let her go?”

“Fine, I’m an eyesore. I’ll leave right now and go find a boy toy…”

Saying that, she put down the wine bottle, only to be pulled into Julian’s arms the very next second.

Julian stared at her still-radiant face, remembering their passionate past, and finally couldn’t hold back anymore.

He leaned down and kissed Chloe on the lips, silencing those hateful words.

After a long, lingering kiss, they finally parted, Chloe’s eyes filled with a hazy mist.

“Olivia is my wife, but she is only my wife.”

Julian said in a low voice, “Chloe is the only person I have ever loved.”

A gust of wind blew past, and the door opened silently.

Julian turned his head to look, and there stood Olivia outside the door.

Her clothes were torn and tattered, her hands covered in bloody scratches, and her beautiful face was completely devoid of expression.

Julian’s expression turned to panic.

Before he could open his mouth to explain, Olivia walked straight into the room, brushing right past him.

For the next few days, Julian wanted to explain things to Olivia, but he couldn’t even catch a glimpse of her.

She stayed cooped up in her room, packing her bags.

Finally, it was Oliver who slipped into her room, keeping his head down as he said, “Aunt Sterling, I’m sorry.”

Olivia was very surprised.

This was the first time Oliver had used a somewhat respectful title for her. In the past, she would have been thrilled to pieces.

But now, she merely said indifferently, “No need to apologize.

Is there anything else?”

Oliver looked conflicted. After hesitating for a long time, he asked somewhat sheepishly, “Could you do my mom a favor?”

“Mom and Dad were photographed together, and now everyone online is saying Mom is the mistress.

“Could you divorce Dad first, just so Mom can clear things up?

It’ll just be a fake divorce!

You guys can remarry right after!”

Olivia was taken aback.

“Forget it if you won’t…”

Oliver muttered to himself, “You’re so obsessed with Dad and want to be my mom so badly, there’s no way you’d agree…”

“Okay.”

Oliver looked up in disbelief: “What?!”

“I said okay.”
