The Prince Let Me Die Now He Begs For My Love Chapter 22
Adrian didn’t answer.
He had a staff member escort me to the adjacent lounge, his tone suddenly gentle again.
“I have another guest to see. After we’re done talking, I’ll come back for you.”
Royal Guards stood outside the door. I couldn’t leave.
Less than half an hour later, I heard the other guest’s voice.
Gavin listened quietly as the whole situation was explained.
Through the door that had not been fully shut, Adrian said,
“The person Vivian truly loves is me.”
“You were never set on having her. Break off the engagement, and I’ll owe you a favor.”
Gavin sighed.
“You’re too late.”
“That woman is far too good at lying. I’m already completely under her spell.”
“It doesn’t matter whether you offer me company shares or a seat on the Royal Council. I’m not giving her up.”
Adrian’s voice turned cold.
“What if I insist on having her?”
The room sank into a suffocating silence.
My heart rose into my throat.
But Gavin laughed.
“Then kill me first.”
“If my fiancée gets taken by force and I’m still alive, what would be the point?”
He said it like a joke, but his attitude held no trace of retreat.
Behind the door, I watched Adrian’s silent profile and quietly let out a breath of relief.
Those letters were just three years of correspondence, a relationship that had never even met in person.
Adrian, on the other hand, possessed the succession, the Crown, and the entire kingdom.
Any one of those mattered more than a stack of paper.
As first heir, no one understood the weighing of costs better than he did.
At some point, the smile vanished from Gavin’s face.
Coldly, he said,
“Adrian, once you’ve missed your chance, you’ve missed it.”
“Not every mistake deserves a second chance.”
