The Seat Swap That Got Me Harassed To Death Chapter 07
The older woman stormed in and immediately glared at me, her voice loud and sharp.
“Snowball was so sick that day, her face had gone completely white, and this girl still refused to switch seats!”
“Officer, someone this cold-blooded has to be a danger to society. You should arrest her!”
I let out a cold laugh and looked at the police.
“Refusing to switch seats isn’t a crime, is it?”
The officer nodded, motioning for the woman to continue.
She shot me another vicious glare, planted her hands on her hips, and spoke up again.
“I’m telling you right now, don’t you dare try to frame her! I ate the cookies she gave us, and nothing happened to me!”
The man in glasses adjusted his frames and nodded.
“I ate Snowball’s cookies that day too. Nothing happened to me. You’re obviously just making this up to frame her.”
I pulled up the verification record on my phone and showed them the report number.
“The number on the report can be verified. You can’t fake something like this.”
Emily sniffled a few times before looking at me with deep hurt.
“Claire! How can you be this shameless?”
“The cookies are in your hands. Who knows if you poisoned them yourself and then cooked up this whole story to frame me?”
She covered her face, her shoulders shaking violently.
“What did I ever do to you? Not only did you go out of your way to infect me with an STD, now you’re trying to ruin me too…”
The livestream chat exploded.
“Snowball is seriously the victim here. She does so much good, and this psycho deliberately targeted her! I’m shaking with anger!”
“Anyone who knowingly spreads a disease like this belongs behind bars! She’s disgusting!”
Ethan stood behind Emily, his face dark as he glared at me.
“How much longer are you going to keep making excuses, Claire?”
“Everyone else ate the cookies and nothing happened to them. Emily is the only one who sat in your seat and got sick. Who else are you going to blame?”
I looked at their righteous, outraged faces.
Then I smiled.
“You all keep saying she’s an angel who does nothing but good.”
“But over the past few days, I looked into Emily’s charity foundation. And I found something pretty interesting.”
Emily’s face changed instantly.
Her voice rose several notches.
“What are you talking about? The poisoning accusation didn’t work, so now you’re trying something else?”
I pulled a thick stack of printed documents from my bag and spread them out in front of everyone.
“The charity foundation you started. That money wasn’t actually coming out of your own pocket. You raised it from the public, didn’t you?”
Emily gritted her teeth, her body trembling slightly.
“So what? Good people are judged by what they do, not what’s in their hearts.”
“Even if it wasn’t all my own money, I still used it to help people.”
I let out a quiet laugh.
“So you’re really going to keep digging your heels in until I show you everything.”
Ethan clenched his fists and grabbed me by the collar.
“What gives you the right to attack Emily? At least she has a good heart. She took everyone’s generosity and actually put it to use.”
The older woman nodded along, pointing at me.
“I can’t stand people like you who criticize everyone from the sidelines! You don’t do anything yourself, but the second someone else does some good, you have to pick it apart!”
I shoved Ethan’s hand away and calmly pulled another document from my bag.
“According to my investigation, the foundation raised twelve million dollars in public donations over the past three years.”
I stepped closer to Emily, watching her face grow more and more uneasy.
“But only three hundred and twenty thousand dollars actually went to charitable projects.”
I stared straight into her eyes.
“So tell me, Emily. Where did the other eleven million dollars go?”
