The Seat Swap That Got Me Harassed To Death Chapter 09

The living room erupted into chaos.

The older woman clutched her stomach and collapsed onto the floor, groaning in pain.

The man in glasses had turned purple around the lips. He was bracing himself against the wall, barely able to stay on his feet.

I crouched down and looked at their twisted, pain-stricken faces.

“The incubation period is three to seven days. The symptoms are acute gastroenteritis, high fever, and vomiting.”

I turned my head toward Emily, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Looks like your cookies weren’t quite as harmless as you claimed.”

Emily’s face went completely white. Her lips trembled.

“No. I don’t know anything about this…”

The police reacted immediately. One of them pulled out his radio.

“We have multiple people showing signs of acute poisoning. Send three ambulances immediately!”

The livestream chat went insane.

“Oh my God! They’re all sick!”

“That’s it! The cookies did it! Claire’s medical report was real!”

Emily suddenly jumped off the couch and rushed over to the older woman.

“Ma’am, are you okay?”

The woman shoved her hand away, her voice weak but furious.

“Don’t touch me! What the hell did you give us?”

The man in glasses leaned against the wall, his face ashen.

“Emily, you poisoned us on purpose, didn’t you? Then you tried to pin it on Claire so you could cash in on the attention!”

Emily stumbled backward and slammed into the coffee table.

“I don’t know! I swear, I don’t know!”

Ethan stared at the people scattered across the floor, completely stunned.

“How could this happen? This isn’t possible.”

Then he suddenly looked up and glared at me.

“You planned all of this, didn’t you, Claire? You really are that calculating!”

I shrugged and gave him a faint smile.

“If you hadn’t been trying to hurt someone, none of you would be in this situation.”

The two officers stepped forward and grabbed Emily by both arms.

“Ms. Emily Carter, you’re being detained on suspicion of deliberately spreading a harmful pathogen, conspiracy, and fraud involving false evidence.”

They dragged her toward the door.

Her legs were so weak she could barely walk.

She suddenly twisted around and screamed at me.

“Claire! I hope you rot in hell! When I get out, I’ll make you pay!”

I watched her lose control without so much as blinking.

“Next time, I’ll win too.”

Footsteps thundered through the hallway as the paramedics rushed in.

The witnesses who had fallen ill were carried out one after another.

The livestream was shut down.

Ethan was arrested as her accomplice.

He looked like someone had pulled the soul right out of him.

Then he suddenly turned to me and started begging.

“Claire, I didn’t mean any of that. I was just angry. You can forgive me, can’t you?”

I straightened the stack of documents in my hands.

“Ethan, I warned you. You said those things, and now you have to take responsibility for them.”

“And we’re already broken up. I’m not forgiving you, and I’m not signing any statement asking for leniency. Get ready to spend a long time behind bars.”

He completely panicked and started struggling against the officers.

“Claire! She tricked me! I swear, I didn’t know anything!”

I turned my head and looked at him, a trace of contempt in my eyes.

“No one forced you to tell everyone I slept around or that I was trying to get revenge on society.”

“Ethan, don’t treat me like I’m stupid. Save your apology for the courtroom.”

I turned away and walked through the chaos.

The elevator doors closed, cutting off his voice.

The floor numbers ticked downward one by one.

I finally let out a breath.

This time, I’d pulled off one hell of a comeback.

The next morning, the hospital became the center of attention.

The patients who had been admitted gave interviews to the media.

The older woman leaned against her hospital pillow, her voice hoarse as she cried into the camera.

“That woman, Emily Carter, gave us cookies full of bacteria and tricked us into helping her give false testimony! I’ve never been so humiliated in my life!”

The man in glasses was lying in the bed beside her, his face full of regret.

“I was such an idiot. She poisoned us, and I was still defending her. She was using us as pawns the whole time!”

The whole internet exploded.

Then people started digging into Emily’s past.

That afternoon, photos and videos of her suddenly flooded social media.

They showed Emily entering and leaving hotels with different men, dressed provocatively, with her arms wrapped around them.
