The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 11

Lucian’s mind was spinning. He didn’t want to believe that Camille was the one who’d poisoned Snowball. But the footage made it impossible to deny.

There has to be some kind of misunderstanding, Lucian thought grimly. Regardless—first, find Nora.

Once he found Nora, the truth might come out.

With that thought, Lucian hired an entire team of private investigators that very day and turned New York upside down.

At the same time, he assigned another team to keep round-the-clock watch on Camille.

If Camille really was the one who’d poisoned Snowball, he would not let her get away with it.

Money accomplished things faster than he’d imagined. Nora hadn’t tried to hide her movements, so by the next morning, the results were on his desk.

“Mr. Hawthorne, Miss Hartley is most likely in Canada,” the lead investigator reported. “We found that she purchased a ticket to Canada late last night.”

“Her aunt lives in Canada. She’s probably gone to stay with her.”

Without hesitation, Lucian flew to Canada.

But his trip didn’t go well.

Nora wasn’t at her aunt’s house. And her aunt was ice-cold to him. No matter how he asked, Aunt Nadine gave him the same clipped response. “Nora isn’t here. I don’t know where she is. Please leave.”

Canada was vast. With no leads, Lucian had no way to find her.

Now, all he could do was pin his hopes on the graduation ceremony three months away.

He and Nora were in the same year. Their class was about to graduate, and in three months, the school would hold the graduation ceremony.

The president would personally hand each graduate their diploma.

Nora had always excelled academically. He’d heard she’d even been named an outstanding graduate. Lucian was certain she wouldn’t miss her own graduation.
