The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 16
Camille had indeed been misleading Lucian all along.
Ten years ago, Camille had also witnessed the scene of Nora carrying Snowball out of the fire.
She was disappointed she hadn’t managed to burn Nora alive.
But luckily, she’d noticed something interesting—the young Hawthorne heir seemed extremely attached to the dog Nora had rescued.
Maybe she could use this to marry into the top echelon of society.
So a wicked plan slowly took shape in Camille’s mind. She went to her uncle on her mother’s side—a man who ran a small clinic in Queens and would write almost any prescription—and got large quantities of hormone-based drugs from him. Then she secretly added them to Nora’s meals, three times a day.
Meanwhile, she starved herself relentlessly, sculpting herself into the image of a slender, fragile girl.
That was why, when Lucian first met Camille, even though her features didn’t quite match the girl in his memory, their presence felt similar.
Both had long, thin limbs. Both carried that delicate, broken air.
It was true that a child’s features changed as they grew. Few people’s adult faces matched their childhood proportions exactly. So Lucian never doubted Camille.
He’d simply gotten the wrong person.
And he gave all the affection meant for Nora to Camille instead.Â
