The Ultimate Betrayal: My Fiancé And Sister Filmed My Rape For A Headline Chapter 09

Sound came back before anything else did. Nate’s voice, breaking apart somewhere near my ear.

“Why isn’t she awake yet. You said she was out of danger.”

The doctor’s voice, careful. “She’s stable. But the injuries were severe enough that we can’t rule out paralysis.”

Nate went silent. His hand found mine, shaking.

“Claire. Don’t do this to me. Wake up.”

His voice kept going, on and on. None of it landed. Just noise.

Evening came. Vivian showed up crying.

“Claire, I’m so sorry. I never wanted it to go this far.”

Nate walked back in from dinner and ripped her hand off the bed rail.

“You don’t get to be here.”

“Everything that happened to her is on you. You’re poison.”

“You knew she was pregnant. That’s why you pushed the assault footage in the first place. Then when she was fine, you set up the hit.”

I lay there and listened. None of it surprised me anymore.

I’d had days to sit with it. Vivian was in love with him. Real love, not the kind she used to talk about.

And she wanted me gone to make room for it.

The baby included.

She sobbed through her answer. “I never wanted her to end up like this. I swear I didn’t.”

“We grew up in that home with nobody. She’s the one who gave me the nerve to get through it. You think I’d actually hurt her?”

Nate cut her off, cold. “Stop the performance.”

“I’m telling you now, officially. I’m marrying Claire.”

“I’ll cover the kid’s expenses. That’s it. I’m done seeing either of you.”

He started walking her out. She planted her feet.

“That’s not fair to us. To me and my daughter.”

“She’s too young to grow up without a father.”

Her mask slipped then. She pointed straight at the bed.

“Look at her. She might never wake up.”

“She can’t be your wife. She can’t give you children. Think about what you’re doing.”

Nate looked at me and laughed, quiet.

“Whether she wakes up or not, I’m staying right here.”

Vivian gave up. Walked out.

The next few days, he didn’t leave my side. Kept trying to pull me back with all our old memories.

I heard every word of it clearly. And every one of those memories had already gone rotten.

When I could finally move again, I asked the doctor about transferring out.

He checked my chart, nodded.

“You’re healing well enough. I’ll set you up somewhere quiet. A recovery facility. Better fit for you right now.”

I finished the discharge paperwork. Nate came running after me before I made it out.

“Claire!”
