Their Favoritism Resulted In A Cruel Outcome Chapter 08
She hadn’t slept all night, but not because she was worried.
She had changed into a new, pale yellow dress and was wearing the silver hair clip Luke had brought back from Savannah.
The moment the front door opened, she ran out.
“Dad, did Willa sign?”
No one answered.
The smile froze on her face.

The color slowly drained from Blair’s face.
“How is this possible?”
She staggered backward, knocking over a flower stand by the door.
“How could they be dead?”
Henry looked up. His eyes were bloodshot, and he was still holding his daughter in his arms.
“You didn’t know?”
“Molly was only six.”
“When you let those men go in there, did you not know there were children inside?”
Blair shook her head frantically.
“No. It wasn’t me.”
“I only wanted to scare Willa.”
“I didn’t want anyone else to die.”
“She wouldn’t sign, and that’s why they were all stuck there. You can’t blame this on me.”
Henry stared at her.
He handed Molly to James, then lunged forward and slapped Blair hard across the face.
She crumpled to the ground.
Clutching her cheek, she looked up at him in disbelief.
“Henry, you hit me?”
“You said you’d make it up to me. You said you’d protect me.”
