Westley You Are Late Chapter 09

Westley You Are Late Chapter 09

Leo’s voice pulled me back to the present.

My silence had stretched on too long, and his patience was wearing thin.

“Brielle, are you really going to burn this bridge with Westley? Let me remind you—the Ferraros are already setting up arranged dates for him.”

“If you don’t do something, the two of you are really over.”

I could hear other voices in the background.

“Why are you wasting your breath? If she won’t come, it’s her loss.”

“Exactly. We’re doing her a favor. Are we supposed to beg her to come make up with him, too?”

Leo spoke again. “You heard them. This is your last chance.”

I sighed.

“Leo, don’t call me about this kind of thing again. My husband wouldn’t like it.”

There was a full second of dead air on the line.

Then, an explosion of laughter.

“Did you hear that? She said ‘husband.’”

“Everyone knows you were with Westley for five years. You spent that whole time chasing him. Who would marry you?”

“You post one fake marriage certificate and now you actually believe it yourself?”

Their laughter was loud and mocking.

Every word dripped with condescension.
