You Told Me To Walk So I Walked Right Out Of Your Lives Chapter 21

Before I could speak, Miller stepped in front of me.

“When did she ever say that?”

Ronan hurriedly explained, “She didn’t answer, and she didn’t return all the money.”

“We thought… we thought she was at least willing to give us a chance.”

My father nodded.

“Amaris, we know we were wrong. Look, Ronan has been trying to make it up to you all these years. You accepted that money, too.”

So they had taken my silence as agreement.

I lifted my eyes. “Three days from now is the Santoro Corporation’s anniversary celebration, right?”

Ronan froze.

“Yes. We were going to invite you. The company has been badly affected by… what happened.”

“If everyone saw that our family had reconciled—”

“All right,” I interrupted him. “I’ll go.”

Joy spread across all their faces.

Leo turned his head to look at me.

He knew I wasn’t finished.

I looked at Ronan.

“When the time comes, we’ll make things clear. The money, and our relationship.”

Three days later, I walked into the venue on time.

My parents were waiting at the entrance.

The moment my mother saw me, she rushed forward.

“Baby, you finally came.”

She instinctively tried to hug me.

I stepped aside.

Her hand stopped in midair, the smile on her face stiffening.

“It’s fine,” she quickly muttered to herself. “You’re not used to it yet. We’ll take our time.”
