He Tested Me With Prenup I Left Him With Regret Chapter 28

Maya had asked him that once.

The judge had asked him, too.

Now, it was his daughter.

At last, Grant could no longer answer with “I was being influenced.”

“Because I was afraid that one day, she might try to take things from me.”

Lucy looked at him.

“But you took her exam. You took two years of her career.”

“And you almost took Chicago away from her, too.”

Grant’s face turned white.

Lucy pushed the printouts back toward him.

“You all kept saying you were protecting me.”

“But you lied using my name, you tested her using my illness, and you made me think she left because she didn’t love me.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but her words made it harder for Grant to look up than any accusation ever had.

“Who exactly were you protecting?”

Grant didn’t answer.

The next day, he called a management meeting for the family trust.

Colton assumed Grant was there to restore his authority and immediately tried to dump all responsibility on Celeste.

“She made the group. She started the betting.”

Grant placed the full chat history in the center of the long table.

“But every single person used their own account to send those messages.”

Colton’s face tightened.

“You’re really going to hand all of this over to lawyers because of an outsider?”

“Maya isn’t the one who brought any of this out.”

Grant looked at everyone present.

“You were the ones who kept attacking her in the family’s name.”

When the meeting ended, Colton’s authority over the family trust was officially revoked.

Several relatives and friends who had taken part in the betting also lost the right to manage any accounts connected to the fund.

Only then did they start blaming each other.

Some blamed Celeste for starting it.

Some blamed Colton for going live.

No one dared to say it had only been a joke anymore.

Because this time, the joke had actually cost them something.
