He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 07

Madison froze for a second, then laughed.

“This is a family dispute. What gives you the right to interfere? Did she bring you here to put on a show?”

She looked him up and down.

“Nice suit. Elodie, is this a friend you made last night?”

I ignored her and motioned for the movers to resume their work.

“Do you even know who he is?”

Madison folded her arms.

“I don’t care. He walks in here with a briefcase and thinks he can start giving orders? Do you have any idea what this house is worth?”

The man didn’t respond. He simply presented his bar card and a letter of authorization to the estate manager for verification.

Madison laughed even louder.

“So he really is a lawyer. What’s your hourly rate? Eric has lawyers, too. Don’t act like she’s the only one who can afford one.”

After examining the documents, the estate manager’s tone became deferential.

“Mr. Winslow, the paperwork is in order.”

Eric had been leaning against the staircase. The moment he heard the surname, he stood up straight.

He stared at the name on the ID card, then looked again at the man’s face.

“Wyatt… Wyatt Winslow?”

The man nodded.

“Eric. It’s unfortunate we have to meet under these circumstances.”

Sensing the shift in Eric’s demeanor, Madison’s smile slowly faded.

Wyatt Winslow was an equity partner at Baker Reed, a top-tier law firm specializing in mergers, acquisitions, and major commercial litigation.
