He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 08
Not long ago, Hawthorne Apparel had been trying to restructure its debt. They had reached out several times, hoping to secure a meeting with Wyatt, but had never succeeded.
He was also outside counsel for the Carrington Group.
Eric knew exactly what his presence here meant.
“Mr. Winslow, this is just a misunderstanding between Elodie and me. There’s no need to handle it like this.”
Wyatt glanced at the box Madison was still clutching.
“A misunderstanding can be explained. Withholding someone’s property cannot.”
Madison finally let go.
Wyatt turned to me.
“Vivian asked me to come get you. She said you didn’t get any rest last night. Once this is done, go home and get something to eat.”
Vivian Carrington was my aunt and the chairwoman of the group.
My parents were in Europe handling a supply chain merger, so Vivian had been the one to help with many of the wedding arrangements.
When she heard the news last night, her first question was where I was. Her second was when she could send someone to pick me up.
I had talked her out of it then. This morning, she had sent Wyatt anyway.
Madison whipped her head toward me.
“Vivian Carrington is your aunt?”
I looked at her.
“Why do you think the Hawthorne family was so insistent on this wedding?”
The Carrington family had started in fabric wholesaling. Now, we managed global apparel supply chains, fabric R&D, and our own portfolio of brands.
