He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 13
He set the box on the reception desk and turned to Eric.
“This is a place of business. It’s not a venue for you to harass people. Elodie has already asked you to leave.”
Eric took half a step back.
“Mr. Winslow, I was just a little overwrought.”
“There are cameras at the entrance and at the reception desk.”
Wyatt’s tone remained level.
“If you continue to block her path, insult her, or disrupt her business, security will call 911. If this happens again, we will have all the evidence we need.”
A guard stepped forward, gesturing firmly toward the exit.
Eric glanced at the watching faces and finally fell silent.
After he was gone, Wyatt turned to me.
“Vivian asked me to drop this off on my way out.”
I opened the box. Inside were cinnamon rolls, my favorite.
“Since when does my aunt know my latest cravings?”
Wyatt looked away.
“I told her.”
After a moment, he added, “And for the record, I don’t treat relationships casually.”
There was something so earnest in his expression that it caught me off guard.
So I smiled, a little too deliberately.
“That sounds like you think I’ve already agreed to date you.”
“Eric and I are over, but that doesn’t put you in a different category.”
“If you like someone else, I could help you figure out if you’re a good match.”
Wyatt looked at me, and the gentle humor in his face slowly faded.
“Elodie Carrington, you know perfectly well that I—”
I snapped the lid of the box shut.
“Don’t you have work to do? Go take care of it. I have clients to see.”
