He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 15

A month later, the new project was back on track.

My parents returned from Europe, and after I told them everything, they were furious.

The moment my mother walked in, she threw her coat over the back of a chair.

“Where is Eric? I want to ask him to his face what, exactly, he thought he was doing with my daughter.”

My father’s expression was just as grim.

“When he came to us, making all those promises, every word out of his mouth was golden.”

I poured them coffee and walked them through what had happened.

When I got to the part about Madison stepping out of the closet in a nightgown, my mother slammed her cup down on the saucer.

“They never had any intention of respecting you.”

My father stopped cursing Eric’s name. After a moment of silence, he asked, “So what, exactly, is going on with Wyatt Winslow?”

My hand paused.

“What do you mean, what’s going on?”

My mother’s eyes were on me instantly.

“Vivian tells us he’s been at the showroom quite a bit lately.”

“He’s handling some projects for the group.”

“Do those projects require him to bring you cinnamon rolls?”

For a moment, I was speechless.

My father laughed softly.

“I’ve worked with Wyatt before.”

“His team handled that payment dispute with the European supplier last year. His fees were clear, his assessments were honest, and he never made a promise he couldn’t keep just to win the business.”

My mother took my hand.

“We’ve asked around. He’s never been married, and he isn’t seeing anyone.”
