Betrayed By My Best Friend I Revealed My Billionaire Heiress Identity Chapter 06
Chapter 6:The Kensington Way
The car smells like sandalwood. Warm. Quiet. A world away from the mud outside.
I lean back in the seat and peel the soaked bandage off my forehead.
Dominic is sitting beside me. His jaw is tight. He hands me a warm antiseptic towel.
“Elara. My baby sister. Since the day you were born, no one has ever dared touch a hair on your head. And these people cracked your skull open with a steel pipe?”
“The hand that swung that pipe—I’ll have it crushed tonight.”
“Dom, relax.” I take the towel, slowly wiping the blood off my face. “Crushing it outright? That’s no fun.”
“I want them at their highest. Riding the wave. Drunk on their own glory. And then I want them to watch it all crumble—right in front of their eyes.”
Dominic lets out a cold laugh. He tosses a gold-embossed folder onto the center console.
“Here’s what you asked for. That Ashford guy made a little money subcontracting on a few big projects these past two years and started calling himself old money.”
“His company? Kensington Corp snaps its fingers and he’s buried under billions in debt by tomorrow morning.”
“As for that Maya girl…” Dominic’s eyes flash with pure disgust. “I already have people on it.”
“You want to know what she’s been up to? That little snake isn’t just backstabbing you at school. She’s fanning the flames online too.”
He opens the car’s tablet and holds it up for me.
On screen—a brand-new video Maya just posted.
She’s sitting in some fancy restaurant, wearing an ill-fitting Chanel jacket. Obviously Sloane’s hand-me-down.
She looks into the camera, tears streaming prettily: “Thank you all for caring about me. Sloane took me out for a Michelin-star dinner today to help me feel better.”
“That psycho Elara Kensington was officially expelled today. She even tried to hit me on her way out—and stole Sloane’s study materials!”
“But it’s okay. Justice may be late, but it always arrives.”
“Next week at the centennial gala, Sloane will receive the Kensington Scholarship. And that violent monster? She’ll spend the rest of her life rotting in the gutter!”
Below the video, Sloane left a pinned comment in big bold letters:
[Don’t worry, babe. I’ve got you now. Karma always comes for the wicked.]
The comments section is a sea of venom aimed at me.
Some people are even threatening to show up at my apartment and throw paint on my door.
Looking at their smug, self-righteous faces on screen, I don’t feel angry.
I laugh.
“Dom, get our PR department on this.” I point at the screen. My eyes are ice-cold.
“Buy this video the most expensive traffic boost on every platform. Push it to number one trending.”
Dominic raises an eyebrow. “You want to help them go viral?”
“If you want to destroy someone, first let them go insane with confidence.”
“They love the spotlight so much? Fine. I’ll build them the biggest stage on the entire internet.”
“I want every single person online to remember exactly what their ‘innocent victim’ faces look like right now.”
Dominic sees the ruthlessness in my eyes. A slow, satisfied smile spreads across his face.
“Now that’s the Kensington heiress I know.”
“Next week’s gala—I’m coming with you. I’ve got your back.”
