Premature Labor After The Alpha Took My Hospital Bag Chapter 07

The oppressive force of his approach made Alina shrink back instinctively. The baby in her arms startled and began to wail, sharp and piercing.

“Dennis, why are you looking at me like that? You’re scaring me.”

Dennis thrust the report in her face, his voice raw and terrifying, barely leashing his rage.

“Explain this. We’re both Storm Pack. So why does this pup carry Shadow Pack blood?”

Alina went white. Her eyes darted, panicked, and she stammered without forming a single coherent sentence.

“I don’t know—someone must have sent that child to frame me. Dennis, you have to believe me. This is absolutely your baby.”

Watching her pathetic performance, Dennis laughed in bitter disbelief and seized her chin with crushing force.

“Frame you? This report bears a shaman’s official seal. It also says you delivered at full term. How many lies have you told me?”

Guilt made Alina crumble. She cried and tried to pry his hand away.

“Dennis, you’re hurting me. It has to be that bitch Melinda—she faked the report to drive us apart.”

At the sound of my name, Dennis faltered. His grip loosened slightly, as if her argument had landed.

I stepped out from behind the pillar, pulled off my mask, and regarded the pair of them with flat, emotionless eyes.

“A fake report? Alina, shall I pull up the bank transfer records showing you bribed the prenatal doctor to alter your due date?”

The moment Dennis saw me, shock registered first, then wild relief. He strode toward me.

“Melinda—I knew you were fine. Stop making a scene and come home with me. I’ll get to the bottom of this.”

He reached for me. I recoiled in disgust, dodging his touch, and pulled the stillbirth certificate from my pocket.

“Don’t touch me. It makes me sick. Dennis, there’s nothing left to say between us. Sign the divorce papers.”

I flung the certificate directly at his face. The edge of the paper sliced his cheek, leaving a thin line of blood.

He looked down at the document on the floor. When he read the words, his body jerked as if struck by lightning, swaying violently.

“Stillbirth… that’s impossible. This can’t be real. Your checkup yesterday was perfect—the doctor said the pup was healthy.”

He crouched, hands shaking, and picked up the certificate, eyes locked on the official seal, the rims of his eyes burning red.

“Melinda—to drive me away from Alina, you’d fabricate something this evil? Have you completely lost your mind?”

He screamed at me in hysteria, trying to weaponize his anger to mask the terror beneath. He couldn’t bring himself to accept the truth.

I smiled coldly and pulled out my moon stone, playing the recording, holding it up to his ear.

“I know how stubborn you are. I was afraid you’d sneak out and cause trouble for Alina, so I sealed the keyhole with glue before I left.”

“Melinda, since you refuse to appreciate my kindness, you can reflect in the dark. When you’re ready to apologize, that’s when I’ll turn the lights back on.”

His own cruel, indifferent voice echoed down the corridor, each word hammering against his nerves.

Every trace of color drained from Dennis’s face. His mouth hung open, throat producing a strangled, guttural sound, unable to form a single word.

“You sealed my only way out. You locked the door, cut the water, killed the power, ignored my cries for help, and severed my lifeline.”

“Dennis, you killed your own pup with your own hands. You are the most vile person in this world.”

His knees buckled. He collapsed heavily to the ground, clutching his head in both hands, a desperate, keening wail tearing from his throat.

I looked down at Dennis, kneeling at my feet, my gaze arctic and devoid of warmth.

He suddenly lifted his head, threw his arms around my calves, face smeared with tears and snot, fingers clawing at the fabric of my pants.
