Drain My Mafia Husband Dry With His Seven Mistresses Chapter 07
The Empty Throne
Dominic Greyson had no idea what was coming.
When he and Mia got back to the estate, the place was gutted.
Not just empty of people. Empty of everything. Every piece of furniture worth more than a dollar, gone. Every painting, every sculpture, every antique vase. Stripped clean.
Even Dominic, who never paid attention to money, couldn’t help but clench his jaw. “Is Scarlett doing this to spite me? The wedding is next week. She’s deliberately making me look like a fool.”
Mia pouted, arms crossed, and snapped at Vincent. “Are you stupid? The place is empty, so go buy new stuff. It looks hideous like this. Listen to me. Fill the back garden with tulips. Get a portrait painted of me and Dom for the entrance hall. Put an antique vase over there. And build me a display case right here for all the gifts Dom’s bought me. And also…”
Vincent cut her off. He placed a stack of bills in front of Dominic. “Mr. Greyson, there’s no money left in the household accounts. We need funds for new furniture, and the wedding company is demanding their final payment.”
“No money?” Dominic snatched the papers. “Don’t be ridiculous. Money is the one thing this Family has never run out of.” He scanned the numbers. “This is pocket change. Have my assistant wire it over.”
Vincent lowered his head. “Your assistant resigned yesterday.”
Dominic stared at his phone in disbelief. “What? Why didn’t anyone tell me?”
Then he remembered.
He’d been so busy with Mia these past weeks that he’d barely glanced at work. His assistant had brought him documents to sign. He’d waved them through without reading a single page.
The thought unsettled him, but he shook it off and pulled up his banking app to transfer the funds himself.
For the first time in his life, the golden boy Dominic Greyson saw the words: INSUFFICIENT BALANCE.
He rubbed his eyes. Refreshed the screen. The number didn’t change.
Mia shifted uncomfortably beside him. “So, um, a little while back… I took some of your money and invested it in stocks. I wanted to prove I could make money too. But there was a tiny accident.” She waved her hand dismissively. “It’s not a big deal though, right? That amount is nothing to you.”
Dominic felt his chest tighten. He didn’t want to fight over small change. But right now, he desperately needed cash flow.
He shoved past Mia and headed upstairs. To Scarlett’s room.
For ten years of marriage, Scarlett had managed every cent of the household. Every financial crisis, every unexpected expense, she handled it. As long as she was around, nothing ever went wrong.
But when he pushed the door open, the room was bare. Empty closet. Empty vanity. Not a trace of her left.
Only then did it hit him. Scarlett was gone. He’d told her to leave, and she actually left.
He stood frozen in the doorway. A dried rose petal drifted in through the window, spinning slowly before landing at his feet.
And suddenly, the memories came flooding back. All at once.
His chest seized. Something important had been ripped away from him, and he couldn’t get it back. He pressed his hand over his heart, voice tight and urgent. “Where’s Scarlett? Where did she go? Call her. Get her back here. Tell her that even though we’re divorced, she’ll always be my one and only. Once the wedding with Mia is done, I’ll remarry her. Tell her that.”
Vincent said nothing.
Dominic grabbed his phone and dialed Scarlett’s number himself.
Busy tone.
Again. Again. And again.
He tried Natasha’s number. Then Elena’s. Camille’s. Diana’s. Jade’s. Ruby’s. Lily’s.
Every single one. Over and over. The same automated voice every time: “The number you have dialed is currently unavailable.”
Vincent spoke carefully. “Mr. Greyson, you and Ms. Voss are legally divorced. The other seven women have no legal ties to you either. Their departure is entirely within their rights.”
Something collapsed inside Dominic’s chest. His heart seized violently.
He looked around the empty room, wild-eyed, desperate to spot a familiar figure. “The others, fine, whatever. But Scarlett? How could Scarlett leave me? She’s been by my side since we were children. We grew up together. How could she just leave?”
His knees buckled. He hit the floor.
This was the first time in his life Dominic Greyson had ever felt loss.
Mia rushed to help him up. He shoved her away. Grabbed her by the collar. “All these years, I brought home woman after woman, and Scarlett tolerated every single one. The second you showed up, she left. What did you do?”
Mia’s eyes went red. “Nothing! Dom, you know me. I’m helpless without you. You’re my everything. I would never do anything to hurt you…”
She tried to throw herself into his arms. All she got was a cold stare. “That’s not what you said in front of Scarlett last time.”
Mia’s smile froze. She opened her mouth to explain.
But before she could speak, someone burst through the door.
“Mr. Greyson! The senior Capos have all pulled out. The cash flow is completely severed. The Family is about to collapse!”
