Revenge On My Feet Chapter 05

“Nadia went to New York?”

“How could she go to New York?”

Before graduation, Nadia had promised him she would stay in Boston.

She had gone through round after round of interviews to get into Bellini Capital.

That was her chance to stay in the same city as him.

How could she just throw it all away?

Renata started to panic, her voice trembling.

“Only Nadia knew about the plagiarism. Was she the one who told you?”

“How could she do this to me?”

“I won’t be able to get a job in this industry for five years.”

“Desmond, my parents are waiting to hear that I got a job at a major firm. They even booked a celebration dinner.”

“How am I supposed to face them now?”

The HR manager’s expression turned colder.

“Who reported it is irrelevant. The issue is that you concealed a disciplinary record.”

“You are not welcome here. Please leave immediately.”

She picked up the phone and called security.

After they were escorted out of the building, Renata stood at the entrance, sobbing.

“What do we do now? What are we going to do?”

Her crying grated on Desmond’s nerves. He flung her hand off.

“How the hell should I know?”

“When you were plagiarizing that paper, Nadia told you not to. Did you listen?”

“Nadia went to New York. How could she go to New York?”

“I don’t believe it. I’m going to find her and ask her myself.”

He left Renata standing on the sidewalk and drove straight to the apartment he and Nadia had shared.

She wasn’t there.

He went to find Grayson.

“I don’t believe it. I’m going to find her and ask her myself.”

He left Renata standing on the sidewalk and drove straight to the apartment he and Nadia had shared.

She wasn’t there.

He went to find Grayson.

Grayson said he didn’t know anything, either.

There was no word from the school.

Nadia had blocked all his numbers, vanishing from his life as if she’d never been there at all.
