The Man I Couldn’t Escape Chapter 15
Sebastian suddenly froze, then immediately came to his senses and cupped the back of Lorelei’s head, pulling her into his arms and deepening the kiss.
“Leila,” the man’s voice was low and hoarse, “what’s wrong?”
“Leila,” the man’s voice was low and hoarse, “what’s wrong?”
Lorelei’s heels touched the ground as she looked straight at him, her eyes rimmed red. “Why are you so foolish? Aren’t you tired of waiting for me for so long?”
Gently wiping away her tears, Sebastian understood what she meant. He chuckled softly, “I’m not tired. Love at first sight may be a cliché, but I was lucky enough to wait for the person I wanted to wait for.”
Seeing her eyes still red, he leaned down and whispered deliberately, “We have to keep this from Terry. Otherwise, your boyfriend will be chased around by Terry for the next month.”
Amused by his words, Lorelei sniffled with a smile.
“It’s getting late, you should go back. It’s cold down here.”
Lorelei let go of his hand. “Okay, see you tomorrow..”
The two only had eyes for each other, not noticing the black Cayenne that had been parked by the woods not far away for quite some time.
Rayden’s fingers tightened around the steering wheel, his eyes bloodshot as he took out his phone. “Do something for me.”
His Lorelei could only belong to him.
He would never allow anyone else to take her away!
He would never allow anyone else to take her away!
The next day, just as Lorelei finished washing up and was about to leave the dorm, her roommate suddenly rushed over in a panic. “Leila, something happened!”
Lorelei’s eyelids twitched, a sense of foreboding rising within her.
“Check the school forum, someone photoshopped pictures of you in bed and even used AI to generate videos of you. It’s all disgusting. The poster is also spreading rumors that you weren’t actually sick these past three years. Who the hell did this! If I find out, I’ll curse them out!”
Lorelei trembled all over. The vicious insults from the past surged back into her mind. Gritting her teeth to control her emotions, she took a deep breath and dialed Rayden’s number.
“I can take all of this down.”
“Come out and meet me, Leila, just once.”
“Let’s clear things up.”
At the entrance of the University of California at Los Angeles.
Lorelei got into the car. Before Rayden could speak, she looked up and sneered, slapping him. “Is this your idea of an apology?”
Rayden pressed his tongue against his cheek and suddenly smiled as well.
A dark shadow fell over his eyes as he slammed down on the gas pedal.
“What are you doing!” Lorelei’s expression changed.
“What am I doing? Leila, have you forgotten that I’m your husband! I bought everything you love, went to your school to find you, and what did I see?”
“I saw you kissing that man outside the dorm!”
“He doesn’t know about us, so I’ll make sure he—and everyone else—knows! You’re mine, and I want to see who dares covet you!”
The car sped up faster and faster. Seeing his obsessive expression, Lorelei slowly let go of the door handle.
A look of ironic resolve flashed in her eyes as she laughed softly, her eyes red.
“Rayden, you say you love me, right?”
Thinking her attitude had softened, Rayden regained his composure.
Thinking her attitude had softened, Rayden regained his composure.
He spoke eagerly.
“Yes, Leila, I love you! What happened with Natasha—I was blinded. Believe me, I only love you.”
“Rayden, you don’t love me, you only love yourself. Natasha left and you couldn’t accept it, so you used me. When I left, you couldn’t get used to it, so you set me up. From beginning to end, it was all about satisfying yourself. Stop saying you love me, it disgusts me!”
