Bound To The Wrong Mafia Boss Loved By The Right Golden Boy Chapter 03

The Whip

Back to the main estate, inside the room, he dropped to his knees without being told.

I tapped the pink whip against my palm. “Do you know where you went wrong?”

He kept his head down. “Failed my duty. I accept all the punishment.”

Crack!

The whip split the air and landed across his back. I didn’t hold back.

His shirt tore open. Blood surfaced in thin lines across his skin.

He clenched his jaw, closed his eyes. Sweat beaded on his forehead.

Crack!

The whip hit something hard.

Dominic’s eyes snapped open.

Before I could react, he caught the whip mid-air and yanked.

I hit the floor. My knees slammed against the ground and pain shot through me.

“Miss Sinclair.” He looked down at me. “Are you done?”

“Dominic!”

I was about to snap at him, but then I saw it.

His eyes were red-rimmed. In his clenched fist was the pendant, broken clean in two.

His love token with Mira?

But why did it look exactly like the one I lost as a child?

I used to love pink. I wore it every day.

At a gala when I was young, I caught eyes with a boy across the room.

One fleeting glance.

My heart raced and I ran away in embarrassment. When I got home, the pendant my mother gave me was gone.

Why was it in Dominic’s hands?

Unless the boy I saw that night was him.

And the girl he fell for at first sight was…

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll go.”

I laughed.

He paused mid-step, frowning. “What’s funny?”

I turned around. “I’m laughing because you’re a fool.”

No reaction. Same as always with me.

He turned and left without looking back.

…

That night, on the drive home, I saw a familiar figure kneeling in the rain.

“Why is Dominic kneeling out there?” I asked my driver.

“Apparently a pendant of his broke. Only Master Rinaldi can fix it, but the old man doesn’t take jobs anymore. Mr. Graves is kneeling in the rain trying to convince him.”

My driver sighed. “He really is devoted.”

Devoted.

I closed the car window.

I’d love to see his face when he finds out that pendant was mine all along. That he’s been kneeling in the rain for the woman he doesn’t even want.

…

I had no more hope for Dominic Graves. But the upcoming arms deal still needed his skills.

“This will be our last job together,” I told him the next day, sitting behind my desk. “You’re the best shot on my crew. Don’t screw it up.”

He said yes.

But when we arrived at the meeting point, Dominic was gone.

I called him over a dozen times. My men tried too. No answer.

The meeting was minutes away. One of my soldiers leaned in. “Those guys are trigger-happy. Without Mr. Graves holding them down, we can’t control the room. Maybe we should pull out.”

“Go in.” I gripped the holster at my hip. “If we back down today, they win without even appearing.”

They stared at me.

A few seconds later, the sound of rounds being chambered filled the car.

The negotiation started smooth enough. Until we hit the money split.

“You come into our territory, steal our product, and now you want to take our supply chain too? You think we owe you an apology on top of it?” I slammed my hand on the table.

They flinched. Both sides raised their guns.

I stared them down. “Seventy-thirty. Our way. One cent less, and nobody walks out of here.”

BANG!

One of their guns went off. Accident or not, it didn’t matter.

Every nerve snapped. Everyone pulled their triggers at once.

I drew my piece, flipped behind the couch, and dropped two of them clean.

Dominic taught me to shoot. Right now, nobody could touch me.

But just as I was about to push through, my gun jammed.

My stomach dropped.

How? Every piece of equipment was checked before we left.

This doesn’t just happen.

Unless someone tampered with my case.

Before we left, Mira came to see Dominic off.

But she didn’t know my combination…

Wait.

My heart sank.

She didn’t.

But Dominic did.
