Bound To The Wrong Mafia Boss Loved By The Right Golden Boy Chapter 10
The Bullet
Dominic’s brows twisted.
Kieran smiled. “I will never hand her over to you alive. All you’ve ever given her is pain.”
SLAP!
The gun was snatched away in a blur of speed.
But Dominic had been protecting me for years. His reflexes were just as sharp. They grappled instantly.
The moment I saw Dominic gaining the upper hand, about to squeeze the trigger, I shouted: “I’ll go with you!”
The gun froze at Kieran’s chest.
Dominic looked at me.
I walked past him. “What are you standing there for? Take me to your car.”
“Valentina!” Kieran’s voice cracked.
“Don’t follow me!” I turned and snapped at him.
His feet stopped.
I spoke. “This is my decision. Don’t come after me. Or I’ll hate you for the rest of my life.”
“Valentina…” Kieran’s expression shattered in a way I’d never seen before. “You’re joking, right? You promised you wouldn’t go soft…”
I clenched my jaw and walked away.
…
In the car, Dominic drove, glancing at me every few seconds. “Don’t worry. Everything will be better from now on.”
I didn’t answer.
“I built you a castle. Pink, the way you used to love. You’ll like it when you see it.”
I still didn’t answer.
“Valentina, the first time I saw you, I was completely gone. All these years, I never forgot that one look.”
I cut him off. “I wish you had.”
He paused. His eyes reddened. “Valentina, my shares in the Graves empire. I’ll transfer them all to you. Every cent. My entire life will be spent making it up to you. I swear.”
I closed my eyes. “I know.”
I believed him. When it came to the things he treasured, he never lied.
But I didn’t want it anymore.
That was all.
“Let’s just leave it at this.”
My voice was flat.
The car drove a few hundred meters more, then slowly came to a stop.
Dominic’s face was unreadable. “Go.”
I froze.
He said it again. “I changed my mind. Go. Now.”
I opened the door. His hands tightened on the steering wheel.
But he didn’t stop me.
I got out and started walking.
“Valentina.”
I thought he’d changed his mind again. But he just lowered his head. “I’m sorry. All these years. You didn’t deserve any of it.”
I didn’t understand why he was saying this. I didn’t know how to respond.
His mouth opened, then closed. I frowned. “What did you say?”
“Nothing.” He turned away. “Go.”
At the end of the road, Kieran’s car came speeding toward me.
I lifted my wedding dress and ran toward him.
Kieran was out of the car in a second, sprinting, pulling me into his arms.
At the same moment, a gunshot rang out behind me.
I spun around. Kieran’s hands flew to cover my eyes.
Tears soaked his palms.
I knew. Dominic was gone.
And then I remembered the shape of his lips. That last thing he mouthed before I turned away.
‘I still can’t stand seeing you cry.’
