Bound To The Wrong Mafia Boss Loved By The Right Golden Boy Chapter 09

The Chase

[Valentina’s POV]

Kieran came back faster than I expected.

“I knew it. I should just bring you on every trip. Otherwise that man won’t leave you alone!”

He was fuming.

I shook my head. “You have so many meetings. I don’t like flying everywhere.”

“But…” He held my hand. “We haven’t had our honeymoon yet.”

I blinked.

“And my friends abroad want to meet you. Our wedding was just the contract signing. Don’t you want a proper ceremony? Your father already said yes.”

Something stirred in my chest.

I smiled. “Fine. This time, I’ll listen to you.”

…

While shopping for the trip, I ran into Mira. Her belly was slightly rounded.

“I’m about to become Donna Graves. Aren’t you going to congratulate me? Congratulate your marvelous little sister?”

Seeing her again, I felt none of the old rage.

Seeing her pregnant with Dominic’s child, I didn’t even flinch. “Congratulations.”

“Drop the act! You married Kieran Ashford to play hard to get. It was all to win Dominic back, wasn’t it?” Mira couldn’t stand my calm. She was the one losing composure. “Well, he’s chosen to marry me now! So you can spend the rest of your life with that dickless psycho!”

I laughed softly.

I didn’t bother explaining.

I looked her up and down once, turned, and left.

…

She stormed home in a rage.

But the second she walked in, she heard Dominic’s voice. He’d quit drinking for the baby’s sake, yet tonight he reeked of alcohol, talking to someone on the phone: “I know I have to take responsibility… But the one I truly want to take responsibility for is Valentina…I’ll transfer all my shares to her for free if I have to. I can’t protect her in this life, but at least I can make sure she never wants for anything…”

Mira’s fists clenched tight.

A text lit up her phone. From a man:

[Dominic still won’t give you a cut of the shares? Mira, for our baby’s sake, you need to try harder.]

“Enough!” She smashed the phone on the ground. “Just some pretty boy! Who does he think he is!”

It didn’t matter. Dominic already believed the baby was his!

The door opened behind her.

A hand with long, elegant fingers picked up the shattered phone.

Mira spun around. Her pupils shrank. “Dom… Dominic?”

He looked down at the message on the cracked screen. Then looked up.

His eyes were pure danger.

…

The wedding abroad went ahead as planned.

My father tried to invite Mira, but for some reason, none of her contacts worked anymore.

Just as the ceremony was about to begin, a gunshot split the air.

Dominic pressed the barrel in Kieran’s direction. “Valentina. Come here.”

I gripped the bouquet. “You’re crashing my wedding?”

He didn’t answer directly. Just stared at Kieran with cold, dead eyes.

Kieran stared back, equally cold.

I knew Kieran wouldn’t back down. And that was exactly why I couldn’t let him get hurt.

“Dominic, I’m already his wife. You’re crashing this to be what? The other man?”

“I don’t care if I’m the other man.” His voice had no emotion. “I only care about getting you back.”

I never expected someone who valued his reputation above all else to throw away even that last shred of pride.

“Valentina.” He smiled at me. Broken. Sad. “Your sister. I ‘took care of her’ for you. I’m sorry. All these years, I didn’t know how much she made you suffer.”

“But…” His finger slowly tightened on the trigger. “The rest of my life will be spent making it up to you. Leave him, Valentina. He can’t give you happiness.”

“Is that so?” Kieran was already standing in front of me.

He even walked toward Dominic, step by step, until the barrel pressed against his own chest.

His thumb landed on Dominic’s trigger finger. “Shoot. The second you pull that trigger, she’ll remember me forever. And you will lose her for good.”
