Stella frowned.
“What is Iris doing here? Did you invite people from the royal apartment?”
“No.”
Tessa quickly found the answer. Iris had arrived with Ethan Kane, heir to the Alpha of the Ironcliff pack.
Stella was always up-to-date on the latest gossip.
Julian had been busy with the rescue mission and had grown distant from Iris. Iris, meanwhile, had been in frequent contact with both Ethan and Adrian.
I didn’t care who she was seeing until Stella’s gaze fixed on the pale lavender gown Iris was wearing.
“Where did she get that dress?”
Iris stammered that it had been delivered to the royal apartment from a high-end designer. Julian was away, so she had assumed it was for her.
Stella let out a cold laugh.
“That was commissioned for Genevieve before Julian disappeared. He even asked me what she liked and made me promise not to tell. He was going to surprise her today.”
I paused for the briefest of moments.
A surprise, yes. But no delight.
Iris flushed scarlet and kept apologizing.
Just then, the estate manager rushed past and informed me there had been an accident at the rescue site. While pursuing the attackers, Julian’s vehicle had hit a rock wall. He had suffered another head injury and was unconscious.
My father left for the royal hospital immediately.
