I Was The Perfect Queen But He Forgot My Name Chapter 26

Neither Julian’s injuries nor Iris’s mistake with the dress stopped my ceremony.

Before witnesses recognized by the royal family, I completed my independence oath. From that day forward, I could independently manage my own assets, attend council sessions as a Cedar Ridge member, and refuse any marriage arrangement without my parents’ approval.

My grandfather gave me a private name for my personal use.

“Dawn.”

May the sun, moon, and stars shine on me. May no shadow ever come near.

When the ceremony ended, guests began to leave.

A royal off-road vehicle screeched to a stop outside the estate gates. The door flew open, and Julian stumbled out.

His forehead was hastily wrapped in bandages already seeping with blood. There were dark spots of it on his formal clothes as well.

He walked up to me, then suddenly seemed afraid, daring only to pinch the edge of my sleeve as if worried I might vanish.

His voice was hoarse and urgent.

“Genevieve, today is your independence oath ceremony.”

“I’m not too late, am I?”
