I Was The Perfect Queen But He Forgot My Name Chapter 32
Both Adrian and Julian waited for my choice.
I wanted neither of them.
So I thanked them both, had a staff motorcycle unloaded from the tow truck, put on a helmet, and rode to the royal castle myself.
I had learned both driving and horsemanship, though I rarely rode a motorcycle. Still, I reached the castle without incident.
After parking in the underground garage, I tidied my gown in the lounge. By the time I stepped into the state banquet hall, I was once again the composed and graceful Genevieve.
Stella asked where I had been.
After I explained, she looked toward the head table.
“Adrian’s getting bolder. He’s already daring to compete with Julian in public.”
Celeste looked radiant. Luna Queen Evelyn, however, seemed deeply worn down.
Julian’s amnesia had delayed royal affairs, and after losing Cedar Ridge, Adrian’s faction had gained support from more councilors.
Cedar Ridge was now tied to no prince. We served only the King.
The banquet lasted late into the evening.
King Arthur was looking tired and preparing to withdraw when Adrian suddenly walked to the center of the hall. He requested permission to announce a new political engagement during the birthday banquet.
King Arthur asked, “With whom?”
A bad feeling rose in me.
As expected, Adrian turned to look at me.
“I wish to become engaged to Genevieve Carver.”
