I Was The Perfect Queen But He Forgot My Name Chapter 31

In the end, I still didn’t take the charm.

After leaving the bridge, I walked on without any destination, just following the path.

Not far away, a disheveled old man was squatting by the woods, digging up plants, when he suddenly burst into laughter.

“To find such a precious herb in a public park—my luck is incredible!”

When he looked up and saw Tessa and me, his laughter died.

I hadn’t managed to fly a kite, but I had found the long-missing Royal Healer, Martin Hale.

Once Martin had washed up, he cursed the men who had attacked him all through dinner. He said they were highly trained, not ordinary rogue wolves, and were very likely tied to the group that had ambushed Julian.

King Arthur recorded his statement and turned the investigation over to the Royal Guard.

Martin had originally returned for Julian’s amnesia. Now that Julian claimed to have recovered his memory, it seemed his services were no longer needed.

Still, since he was here, he decided to visit his old friend.

He refused to stay in the royal medical wing and moved directly into the Cedar Ridge estate, where he lived with my grandfather for months.

On the night of King Arthur’s birthday state banquet in the summer, we drove to the royal castle.

Halfway there, my car broke down.

Adrian’s car stopped first. He got out and enthusiastically invited me to ride with him.

I was still considering how to refuse when Julian arrived as well.

He had evidently heard about the breakdown and come out from the castle just for me.

“Genevieve, I’m here to pick you up.”
