I Was The Perfect Queen But He Forgot My Name Chapter 50

I never intended to drink it.

But Rowan suddenly appeared, took the glass from her hand, and emptied it in one swallow.

“One more glass and Genevieve would be drunk.”

Iris stared at him in shock.

I had grown used to Rowan appearing out of nowhere, and still, he startled me.

His expression changed almost at once.

Slowly and methodically, Rowan pulled on a pair of black gloves, then abruptly closed a hand around Iris’s throat.

“You put something in the wine. A drug that impairs judgment?”

He didn’t loosen his grip. Her face rapidly darkened.

I took a step forward, and only then did he seem to remember I was there. He released her at once.

“She isn’t dead.”

He looked at me. The drug was clearly driving his body temperature higher, but his eyes remained dangerous and perfectly lucid.

“Don’t be afraid. How to deal with her is your decision.”

I didn’t look at Iris on the floor. I only stared at him.

“Stop pretending.”

“You knew the wine was drugged. You could have just poured it out.”

“So why did you drink it?”
