He Let Me Bleed So I Let Him Go Chapter 23

“Why did you tell him I went to the clinic, but not *why* I was there?”

Elena’s voice was quiet, but each word landed like a hammer blow.

“Why did you have someone call me to the club, then announce in front of all those bosses that you’d slept with him?”

“I didn’t do that on purpose—”

“Why did you force me to go to that dinner and deliberately neglect to provide a proper gown?”

“That man who harassed you—he spoke to your driver right before he came inside. Are you really going to tell me you didn’t arrange that?”

Bianca took a half-step back.

At last, the composure on her face began to crack.

Elena watched her, her eyes cold.

“You’ve wanted me gone from the very beginning.”

“You thought that if Dante cast me out, the Ferraro family could push you into my place. You thought you wouldn’t just get the man—you’d get the power that came with being the Don’s wife.”

Bianca’s pupils constricted.

Elena tilted her head.

“But even after I left, you still didn’t get what you wanted.”

“Because Dante never had any intention of marrying you.”

Bianca bit down so hard on her lower lip it turned white.

On that face that had always feigned innocence, pure hatred finally broke through.

“Elena Marino, who the hell do you think you are?”

She swung her hand, aiming to slap her.

Elena didn’t flinch.

She sidestepped, caught Bianca’s wrist, and slapped her backhanded across the face.

Bianca’s head snapped to the side, a red mark blooming on her cheek.

When she recovered, she lunged at Elena, her nails aimed straight for her eyes.

The next second, a hand shot out from the side, caught Bianca by the arm, and yanked her backward.
