The Prince Let Me Die Now He Begs For My Love Chapter 23
When my mother discovered that the driver had been forced to change routes and that I had vanished out of contact, she panicked and immediately went to Queen Helena.
That evening, Queen Helena came to the Crown Prince’s wing in person.
She looked at Adrian, furious and disappointed.
“If you failed to recognize the person you loved, then you must bear the consequences.”
“What do you think you’re doing, keeping your cousin’s fiancée locked up here?”
“If this reaches King Cedric and the Royal Council, do you think you’ll still keep your position as first heir?”
Adrian stood there in silence.
His hand clenched, then fell open weakly.
In the end, he withdrew the guards, returned my phone, and let me go home.
At Queen Helena’s insistence, the Crown later issued a public protection statement.
The statement listed me as someone Queen Helena protected as a daughter, while explicitly excluding me from any succession eligibility.
Adrian also signed the document, acknowledging that he had no right to interfere in my marriage or my Pack affiliation.
At the same time, the Royal Family’s official news account publicly congratulated Gavin and me on our engagement.
From that moment on, if Adrian ever wanted to make me a royal marriage candidate again, he would have to publicly tear up the Crown’s own promise.
As for Evelyn, Adrian canceled their engagement on the spot.
There was only disgust left in the way he looked at her.
“You stole someone else’s correspondence and identity, and you wanted to enter the Royal Family through deceit?”
“If Vivian’s mother hadn’t raised you, and if she weren’t unwilling to see you face criminal charges, I would hand all the evidence to the Royal Guard for investigation.”
Evelyn’s face went white.
As if she could not understand the change before her eyes, she slowly sank to the floor.
On the day of the mate-selection banquet, the young and handsome Prince Adrian had ignored every other candidate, picked up the vow she had written, and smiled at her.
The position of Crown Prince’s wife had suddenly fallen into her lap.
Everyone had envied her.
And in that moment, she had fallen in love with that status, and with the man who had chosen her.
She never imagined that a stolen identity would, sooner or later, have to be repaid with the loss of everything.
