Kill Him Nine Times Chapter 08
Only Matteo, still on the deck, hadn’t recovered.
He was gulping down air, desperately trying to force down the terror rising inside him.
A few seconds later, his gaze swept around the yacht.
It was large.
The deck was flat.
There was nothing but open sea on all sides.
There were no immediate weapons nearby.
And he had a whole crowd on his side. I was alone.
Everyone was waiting for Matteo to humiliate me so they could all laugh.
Instead, Matteo slowly got to his feet.
He quietly took two steps back.
His eyes were filled with fear and hatred.
Then he said something he had never said in the loops before.
“Okay… I… I agree.”
This was the first sign of progress.
The first three times, he’d refused.
This time, he agreed so quickly.
I said to the system, “See? Five years of trying to please him wasn’t worth as much as scaring him once.”
The system was silent.
I smiled.
“Good, then. Boyfriend. Let’s begin.”
Matteo’s throat bobbed.
Genevieve panicked and grabbed his arm.
“Matteo, how could you like her? You’re joking, right?”
“You said I was the only one you liked.”
The others were stunned.
“Yeah, Matteo, when did you start liking her?”
“You’re just messing with her, right?”
“I thought the plan was to lock her in the storage room for a little fun.”
The deck dissolved into chaos.
No one noticed that Matteo’s expression was slowly hardening.
He looked at me and forced a trace of tenderness onto his face.
The sea wind ruffled his hair, hiding the chill in his eyes.
He shook off Genevieve’s hand and said to me, “The only person I like is Cosima. I won’t like anyone else.”
“Since I agreed, from now on, she’s my girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend, I have a gift for you.”
The moment he said it, I saw the malice he couldn’t quite hide.
