Adrian lifted a hand, then stopped before he could touch me.
“I married her because I thought I had destroyed you. That wedding dress was sealed in the archives. I never let her wear it again. Every year the brand launched a new collection, I’d go look at the master patterns you left behind. I know how pathetic that sounds—”
“It doesn’t sound pathetic. It sounds meaningless.”
I stepped back.
