I Gave The Prince To My Sister And Found My True Mate Chapter 13

In the end, Rosalie and Lucian’s engagement wasn’t confirmed as planned.

Lucian had a fierce argument with Queen Eleanor at the Royal Castle. Rumor had it the Alpha pressure inside the meeting room spiraled so far out of control that even the guards in the hallway struggled to breathe.

Ultimately, the Royal Council proposed an unstable compromise.

I would enter the royal family as the only registered political wife. Rosalie would not receive a second wife’s title and could never become a second Luna. She would only be allowed to move into Lucian’s estate as a private companion under his public protection.

This wasn’t a relationship the kingdom normally recognized.

It was merely the disguise Lucian forced over his betrayal by using the power of the heir.

When I heard the news, I couldn’t help but laugh.

In this life, he kept saying he wanted to make it up to me, and yet he still hadn’t given up Rosalie.

The day the news reached Cedar Valley, I was feeding fish by the garden pond.

My mother came storming over, her eyes red-rimmed, and slapped me across the face.

“Audrey! Look what you’ve done!”

The blow knocked my face to one side, and the taste of blood filled my mouth almost instantly.

A werewolf heals quickly, but the sting of being slapped by your own mother never vanishes right away.

I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth with my fingertip and said nothing.

Mother trembled with rage.

“Did you seduce Lucian? Did you do something to make him force Queen Eleanor and the Council to accept you?”

I looked at her face, twisted with fury, and suddenly found it utterly strange.

When I died in my last life, she had not been this emotional.

“I never seduced him.”

“Then why won’t he let go of you?”

Her voice turned shrill.

“Rosalie should have been the Crown Prince’s official wife! How could you let her enter the estate under some titleless arrangement, forced to forever stand behind you?”

So that was it. She was only heartbroken that Rosalie had failed to obtain the one position that mattered.

Before I could answer, Father entered from the garden path.

Alpha Edmund’s face was dark. He stopped in front of me, his gaze like a blade.

“Since things have come to this, both of you will enter the royal family.”

I lifted my eyes.

“But you never received a full Luna education, and you are not fit to become the future Luna Queen.” His tone allowed no argument. “I’ll apply to the Council to have Rosalie granted official spousal status instead.”
