Reborn Rupture Chapter 21
Mrs. Romano pushed her way inside.
“Look, they grew up together. ”
“They understand each other so well. And Virginia’s grades are so good. ”
“Matteo just had a bad day. He used to be a top student, too. They’re a perfect match!”
“I’ve always known Virginia liked Matteo. ”
“So how about this: let’s make it official. Matteo can take another year and reapply. ”
“Virginia doesn’t need to rush off to college. ”
“She can take a gap year and stay here with him. ”
“Then they can go to the Ivy League together. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
My father’s face turned beet red.
“What do you take my daughter for? ”
“Get out of my house! If you don’t leave right now, I’m calling the police!”
Matteo stood in the doorway, his head bowed, saying nothing.

In two lifetimes, that had never changed.
I walked to the door and, one by one, threw every bag Mrs. Romano had brought out onto the lawn.
“Mrs. Romano, I don’t like Matteo. I never have. ”
“A person like him is beneath my notice. ”
“Now stop bothering my family. ”
“Otherwise, every single humiliating thing your family has done lately—I will post all of it online for the world to see.”
“How can you be so ungrateful!”
Mrs. Romano shrieked, her face contorted with panic. “My Matteo still has a chance at the Ivy League!”
I sneered.
