Chloe moved over from her desk, her expression worried.

“Elara, don’t feel too bad.”
“I know this isn’t the right time, but Serena has Mr. Vance in her corner, and now Liam is, too…”
In everyone’s eyes, she had won both my grandfather and my husband.
I smiled at Chloe and patted her hand.
“It’s fine. I’m okay.”
I got up, went to the restroom, and locked the door. I called my mother, who was far away in Switzerland.
