My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 39
Griffin didn’t answer.
He lowered his head and placed the steel ring he’d been gripping onto the step of the convenience store.
Then he turned and walked away.
His dark figure receded under the streetlights until the pine scent that clung to him vanished around the corner.
Chiara stood frozen, the wind drying the unshed tears in her eyes.
Again.
Every time they reached the breaking point, he would stop and walk away.
The last thing.
What on earth was worth hiding from her for three years?
And what could possibly require him and Francesca to play husband and wife for all that time?
Chiara bent down and picked up the steel ring.
The metal was cold, just as it had been that night when she was sixteen.
She clenched it in her palm, suddenly realizing she had no idea what to do.
Should she run after him and demand the truth?
Or should she let him go, just as she had three years ago, and force herself to finally give up?
But every time she thought she was ready to let go, he appeared again.
At the airport. At the cemetery. In the Pack estate garden. In the chapel. On this very street.
Again and again.
Her phone vibrated.
Sterling.
*Back at the hotel yet?*
Chiara replied, *Almost.*
She slipped the ring into her pocket and started walking back.
When she reached her floor, she saw that the door to Sterling’s suite was ajar.Â
