My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 44

The door clicked softly shut.

Chiara stood alone in the living room, the letter in one hand and the steel ring in the other.

The city lights blurred into a soft glow outside the window.

Her phone vibrated.

Griffin.

This time, it wasn’t a short, cryptic message. It was long.

*You’re right. I’ve never truly stood on your side. Not in the chapel, not in the garden, not at that family dinner three years ago.*

*I owe you more than I can say. One more failure tonight doesn’t change much. But Chiara, everything I told you under that streetlamp was true. Just give me a little more time.*

Chiara didn’t answer.

She set the phone on the table and held the steel ring up to the light.

And in that instant, she saw it. A tiny engraving on the inside.

Two letters.

C.M.

Chiara Moretti.

She went completely still.

When she had won the ring, it had been a cheap, unadorned souvenir.

This had been added later.

It couldn’t have been her.

It could only have been him.

When had he done it?

Why would an Alpha who had signed a marriage alliance with her sister engrave Chiara’s name inside a ring from when she was sixteen?

Just then, the elevator chimed in the hall.

Footsteps approached and stopped at her door.

Then came three soft knocks.

“Chiara, are you there?”

Not Sterling. Not Griffin.

Francesca.

Chiara tightened her grip on the ring, her heart pounding. She didn’t open the door.

Only a few hours had passed since they’d parted at the café, and Francesca had found her way here.

Griffin had just left, and now she had arrived.

It was exactly as Sterling had said.

Every time Griffin came close to telling her the truth, Francesca appeared.
