Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 12
Archer went completely silent.
In his mind, Chloe had always been the fragile victim who needed protecting.
And people like us—people from money—were automatically the bullies.
But the truth had never been so simple.
The only one who had truly changed was him.
“That’s enough. Stop dragging this out.”
I spoke softly and pressed the divorce papers into his hand.
“Even if you insist I was to blame for everything, I’ve paid for it.”
“Sign this, and leave.”
Archer looked at me as if he were just now realizing I had changed.
For the first time, uncertainty crept into his voice.
“You… you really want a divorce?”
I looked up at him, feeling as though he were incapable of understanding plain English.
Just then, his phone rang.
It was Chloe.
Archer’s tone softened reflexively.
“Chloe? What’s wrong?”
The next second, Chloe’s shrill, panicked scream came through the line.
“Archer, save me—I’ve been kidnapped! They said they’re going to ruin my legs so I’ll never dance again!”
Archer’s face changed instantly.
“Don’t panic. I’m coming right now. Who took you?”
He was already moving toward the door.
But Chloe’s next words stopped him in his tracks.
“It was Elara’s people. She said she wants my baby to pay for hers… Archer, my stomach hurts so much.”
“I think something’s wrong with the baby… come save me…”
Then the line went dead.
The room was silent for a long moment.
Archer looked at me, his voice tight.
“I never told Chloe I was coming here today.”
I looked out at the blue sky beyond the window and answered lightly, “Congratulations. You’re going to be a father again.”
I paused, remembering what I had uncovered in my last life, and couldn’t help but smile.
“But I’d suggest you get a paternity test first. You don’t want to raise someone else’s child by mistake.”
