Reborn Before My Captain Fiancé’s Beloved Dies In A Plane Crash Chapter 33

After the performance, I received an unsigned letter.

My lawyer inspected it, confirming it had come from Archer’s treatment center.

Inside the envelope were only the last crystal shard and a donation document.

Archer had transferred all remaining property under his name into the compensation trust for the accident victims.

The paperwork had already been confirmed by his lawyer and the trustee.

It wasn’t for me.

And it required nothing from me.

I told my lawyer to file it away.

As for the shard, I placed it with the others.

Once assembled, the words were still clear.

*Archer’s One Free Pass.*

I didn’t have it repaired.

Some things, once broken, stay broken.

The following spring, I returned to the U.S. to visit my parents and my child.

Fresh green shoots were pushing up through the grass in the cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Bellini stood at a distance, making no move to approach.

All these years, they had honored my request.

They no longer passed on messages from Archer, and they no longer used our old affection to pressure me.

After the investigation into the drugging incident concluded, Mrs. Bellini resigned from every position she held in the family foundation.

She began regular psychotherapy.

That was the life she had to answer for.

I neither forgave nor retaliated.

I simply stopped cleaning up the consequences of other people’s mistakes.
