She Framed Me As Unfit So I’ll See Her In Court Chapter 38
Beth was the last witness.
She did not look at Sloan. She simply confirmed the phone, the chat history, and her sworn statement.
Opposing counsel tried to prove that she was lying to avoid prosecution.
“Ms. Ron, you did receive a benefit in exchange for your cooperation, correct?”
“Yes.”
“So you have a motive to shift blame onto someone else.”
Beth’s fingers shook nonstop.
“I have a motive to tell the truth.”
She looked up at the surveillance still on the screen.
“Because I’m the person in the footage putting the bottle in there. The person in the phone telling me to do it is Sloan. Nia never touched that bottle, and neither did Maya.”
Opposing counsel tried to continue, but the judge raised a hand and cut him off.
“The record is sufficiently clear.”
That afternoon, both sides completed their closing statements.
The judge did not rule immediately. He went through the two police reports, the school surveillance, and the extraction records from Beth’s phone page by page. The sound of paper sliding against paper seemed unnaturally loud in the courtroom.
At last, he spoke.
“This court cannot regard sustained harassment, the framing of a minor child, and luring a stranger to a child’s residence as mere errors in judgment within co-parenting.”
I took the tissue my lawyer offered me, but I didn’t cry.
“Nia Carter is awarded sole legal custody and primary physical custody of Maya Carter.”
“Caleb Carter’s visitation shall remain supervised by court-appointed personnel. Restoration of unsupervised visitation shall require completion of parenting education, domestic violence intervention, and risk assessment, subject to further review by this court.”
