Ethan leaned down and kissed me deeply.
“Sophie, if it weren’t for you, Foster Group could have been dragged into this too.”
“Thank you.”
He kissed me until I was breathless.
“Ethan, you don’t have to thank me.”
He slowly loosened my clothes.

“The Foster family always repays kindness.”
“If someone does us a favor, we return it.”
He looked at me, his eyes full of heat.
“Sophie, why don’t we finally make this marriage official tonight?”
“But Charlie is still at home…”
“I already asked the nanny to take him out.”

I stared at him.

Suddenly, I remembered what Mrs. Foster had tried to tell me that day.
I burst out laughing.

The day my mother-and-baby store officially opened, half the city’s business and political elite showed up.
Ethan proudly introduced me to everyone.
“This is my wife, Sophie.”
“Her designs were praised by the world-famous designer Joseph.”
“And she recently won the gold medal in a major design competition.”
Everyone looked at me with admiration.

Ethan’s lips curved when he thought about it.

The man was dressed in rags.
His back was hunched, and he looked completely worn out.
I reached into my purse and pulled out a hundred-dollar bill.
“Here.”
“Get yourself some decent clothes.”
The man suddenly raised his head.
His lips trembled.
His voice was rough and hoarse.
