Body Checked By My Straight Captain Chapter 12
Connor reaches us in three strides, eyes burning into Jace. “Move.”
Jace looks up. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.” Connor’s voice is quiet.
The guys around us are half-asleep, headphones in, staring at their phones.
Nobody else seems to notice.
Connor stands over us. His shoulders filling the aisle.
His eyes keep dropping to Jace’s hand on my thigh. Jace slowly smiles.
“Blaine doesn’t seem bothered.”
My face burns, Connor still looking at me. “Is that true?”
My mouth goes dry.
Jace’s fingers squeeze my leg once. A reminder.
The bathroom.
His voice.
What I let him do to me without even knowing it was him.
“Nothing happened,” I say.
Jace laughs under his breath.
Connor’s jaw flexes. “Move.”
For a second I think Jace might refuse. But Connor is still the Captain.
Jace stands. He has to squeeze past Connor in the narrow aisle.
They nearly collide, chest to chest.
Jace leans close enough to murmur something I can’t hear, and Connor’s face goes completely still.
Then Jace walks away.
Connor drops into the seat beside me.
His thigh presses against mine immediately.
I can still feel Jace’s heat there. Connor looks down at my flushed face.
“You okay?”
“Yes.”
“Did he touch you?”
My mouth runs dry.
“No.”
The lie comes too fast.
Connor knows it.
His eyes drop to the exact spot on my thigh where Jace’s hand was.
His hand closes around my knee.
Not gentle. Not hurting. Possessive.
His thumb presses into me.
“Don’t lie to me.”
My pulse jumps.
Connor leans closer.
“What did he say to you?”
I swallow. His eyes lock on mine.
“Blaine. What happened in that bathroom?”
